As Secretary of State, Howden will act as the Chief Election Officer for Texas, ensuring the uniform application and interpretation of election laws across the state. His responsibilities will also include maintaining official business and commercial records, publishing government rules, and serving as the Senior Advisor and Liaison for Texas Border and Mexican Affairs.
