The New Mexico Department of Justice is pushing for reforms to make these platforms safer for minors, which Meta claims are technologically unfeasible. The company argues that complying with these demands would require creating separate apps for New Mexico, leading to the potential withdrawal of services. The second phase of the trial, set to begin on May 4, will determine the specific actions Meta must take.
