Off-Duty Firefighter and Bystanders Rescue Family from Sinking Car in Florida
An off-duty firefighter, Charles Cook, and several bystanders rescued a family from a sinking car in a retention pond in St. Johns County, Florida. The incident occurred after the driver lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to crash into the pond. Amber Ross, her daughter, and the child's father were trapped inside the car. Cook, with the help of others, used a tool to break the car windows and rescue the family. The family, who did not know how to swim, was saved without serious injuries.
