Coram Man Charged with Child Assault at MetLife Stadium During Jets-Giants Game
Sherif Saad, a 34-year-old man from Coram, has been charged with assaulting his child at MetLife Stadium during a Jets preseason game against the Giants. The incident occurred on August 28, when Saad was at the stadium as a coach for the Longwood Youth Football team, which had a halftime scrimmage. According to New Jersey State Police, security footage showed Saad picking up a child and going to a white tent, where he was seen striking the child twice in the torso with an uppercut motion, causing the child's feet to leave the ground. Multiple children witnessed the alleged assault, and bystanders intervened. Saad left the stadium with the child before police arrived. New Jersey State Police contacted Suffolk police, who confirmed the safety of three children at Saad's home.
