Kenyan Ex-NFL Player Deported from U.S. Over Visa Overstay and Criminal Conviction
Daniel Adongo, a former Kenyan rugby player and NFL linebacker, has been deported from the United States after overstaying his visa and being convicted of a crime. Adongo's visa expired in 2016, and his criminal record, which includes charges of criminal mischief and property damage, made him a priority for immigration enforcement. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents removed Adongo from Chicago following a deportation order by a Department of Justice immigration judge. Adongo's case was handled under stricter immigration laws, which require detainment and deportation for certain criminal offenses.
