Sioux Falls Police Investigate Stolen Car Crash Leaving Local Resident with Damages
In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a local resident, Ted Dempsey, is facing significant financial burdens after a stolen vehicle crashed into his two parked cars early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on South Van Eps Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle traveling at high speed before it collided with Dempsey's cars. Sioux Falls Police confirmed that the vehicle was stolen. One occupant was found injured at the scene, while another fled before police arrived. The crash was not the result of a police pursuit, and the investigation is ongoing. Dempsey, whose vehicles were only covered by liability insurance, is now without transportation and has incurred towing and salvage costs. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by friends and neighbors to assist him.
