Advocates Push for Improved Light Rail Services in North Jersey
Advocates in North Jersey are campaigning for enhanced light rail services, including more frequent off-peak service and new stops in Jersey City and Hoboken. The Better Light Rail campaign, led by Hudson County Complete Streets, aims to address the needs of residents who rely on public transit outside of traditional rush hours. The campaign follows the successful A Better PATH initiative, which resulted in expanded weekend service on PATH lines. Despite these efforts, a proposed extension to Newark Liberty International Airport was excluded from the Port Authority's latest capital plan.
