Ottawa Invests Over $10 Million in Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food Processing
The Canadian federal government has announced an investment of more than $10 million in nine agriculture and agri-food projects in Saskatchewan. This funding, revealed by Prairies Economic Development Canada, aims to expand food processing, support innovation, and help businesses access new markets. Key recipients include the Global Agri-Food Advancement Partnership and the Global Institute for Food Security, which will use the funds to develop new products and technologies. The investment also supports infrastructure upgrades at companies like POS Biosciences Corp. and Bioriginal Food & Science Corp. to modernize facilities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen Saskatchewan's agriculture sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years.
