Fuel Shortages in Bolivia Propel Electric Vehicle Adoption
Bolivia is experiencing a surge in electric vehicle adoption due to fuel shortages and increased gasoline prices. The country has faced energy supply disruptions, exacerbated by the repeal of fuel subsidies by President Rodrigo Paz, which doubled gasoline costs. As a result, Bolivians are increasingly turning to electric vehicles, with imports primarily from China and the United States. The number of electric vehicles has grown significantly, driven by the need to avoid long lines at gas stations and the poor quality of gasoline.
