Boeing's Air Force One VC-25B Aircraft Delivery Delayed to 2028 Due to Supply Chain Issues
Boeing's plan to deliver two new VC-25B aircraft, intended to replace the current Air Force One planes, has been delayed until 2028. Originally scheduled for 2024, the delay is attributed to a shortage of properly cleared workers and supply chain disruptions. The interim solution involves using a Qatari-donated 747-8i aircraft, which has completed modifications and flight testing. This aircraft is being painted in the red, white, and blue livery initially sought by President Trump. The Air Force has leveraged industry partnerships and a creative acquisition strategy to meet the accelerated timeline for the VC-25B Bridge aircraft.
