Remote Area Medical Clinics Provide Essential Health Services to Uninsured Americans
Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics are providing crucial medical, dental, and vision care to uninsured and underinsured Americans across the United States. These clinics, which operate nearly every weekend, offer free services to individuals who cannot afford healthcare due to high costs or lack of insurance. At a recent clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee, over 1,200 patients received care, with many waiting in line for days. RAM's services are made possible by a large network of volunteers, including medical professionals who donate their time and resources. The organization, founded by the late Stan Brock, has treated over a million patients since its inception, thanks to the efforts of more than a quarter-million volunteers.
