Wellstar and Partners Launch Mobile Market to Address Food Insecurity
Wellstar Health System, in collaboration with Golden Harvest Food Bank and Augusta Locally Grown, has launched the Wellstar Augusta Mobile Market. This initiative aims to address food insecurity by providing fresh produce and food items to underserved communities. The mobile market was inaugurated at the HUB for Community Innovation, where volunteers distributed food to local residents. Elise Lockamy-Kassim, Assistant Vice President of Community Health at Wellstar, emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting health equity and access to nutritious food. The mobile market is part of a broader effort to improve community health outcomes by ensuring access to essential resources.
