Fertilizer Industry Honors U.S. Grower-Retailer Partnerships for Advancing Nutrient Stewardship
The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) has recognized two teams of agricultural retailers and their farmer partners as the 2026 4R Advocates. These partnerships are celebrated for their commitment to implementing nutrient management practices based on the 4R principles: applying the Right fertilizer source, at the Right rate, Right time, and Right place. The honored teams include Tom Linthicum, a grower from Laytonsville, MD, and David Shriver, a retailer from Hampstead, MD, as well as Drew Wendland, a grower from Autaugaville, AL, and Trey Colley, a retailer from Decatur, AL. This program, now in its 15th year, highlights the tangible, field-level results of 4R Nutrient Stewardship, providing farmers and their retail partners with research-based tools to enhance crop productivity, improve environmental outcomes, and build more resilient and sustainable farming operations. The 2026 4R Advocates will serve as ambassadors for the framework, sharing their experiences through various outreach activities.
