European Nations Acquire AeroVironment Switchblade Munitions Through U.S. Foreign Military Sales
At the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, it was announced that several European countries, including Greece, France, and the UK, are procuring AeroVironment Switchblade loitering munitions through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. Greece has acquired the Switchblade 600 and the UK the Switchblade 300 models. The U.S. State Department has approved a potential sale to Greece of Switchblade 300 Block 20 Lethal Miniature Aerial Missile Systems, including 350 units and associated equipment, valued at approximately USD 80.1 million. This sale aims to enhance Greece's defense capabilities and interoperability with U.S. forces, supporting coalition operations and deterring regional threats.
