Brown University Launches Online Master's in Biostatistics to Meet Growing Demand in Health Data Science
Brown University has introduced an online master's program in biostatistics with a focus on health data science. This program, offered through the School of Public Health in collaboration with the School of Professional Studies, aims to equip professionals with essential skills in statistical modeling, data analysis, and machine learning. The five-semester program includes nine online courses and a capstone project, providing students with practical experience in handling big data within healthcare contexts. The curriculum covers fundamental methods such as probability, inference, and causal inference, ensuring a robust foundation for students. The program is designed to be flexible, allowing students to continue working full-time while engaging in asynchronous learning and optional live sessions. Applications are currently open for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
