Caribbean Tourism Association Reports Surge in Latin American Demand, Reshaping Regional Travel
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and Amadeus have released the 2026 Caribbean Travel Trends Report, highlighting a strategic shift in Caribbean tourism. The report indicates a significant increase in demand from Latin American markets, with premium travel from South America surging by 117%. Peru and Argentina have shown remarkable growth, reinforcing the Caribbean's appeal among affluent travelers. The report also notes a moderation in overseas demand growth, suggesting a stabilization post-pandemic. Smaller destinations are driving growth, with Dominica and Sint Maarten leading the way. The Caribbean remains competitive in terms of accessibility and value, with average economy fares from the U.S. being notably affordable.
