Ottawa Allocates $25 Million to Enhance Advanced Manufacturing at German Trade Fair
The Canadian government has announced a $25 million investment to support 14 projects aimed at advancing manufacturing capabilities in Canada. This funding is part of a broader initiative to enhance trade and transition research into commercially viable projects. Industry Minister Mélanie Joly revealed the funding at the Hannover Messe, the world's largest industrial trade show held in Germany. The projects funded include innovations in battery production, artificial intelligence applications in cosmetics packaging, methane gas conversion into stored energy, and automated manufacturing for small nuclear reactors. The funding is facilitated through Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen), a non-profit organization. This announcement follows a previous allocation of $38 million by the industry for similar projects.
