In Detroit's Dexter Linwood neighborhood, residents Julie Day and Gina Peoples have witnessed a dramatic transformation of their surroundings after city officials responded to their calls for help. The area, previously plagued by an abandoned house overrun with weeds, squatters, and rodents, has been cleaned up following intervention by District 5 Manager Keith Butler and his Blight Remediation team. The property, which was in the first phase of foreclosure, has been cleared of overgrowth and debris, significantly improving the neighborhood's appearance and safety.
