16,000 Foreign Volunteers Join Ukrainian Defense Forces, 40% from Latin America
Ukraine's Military Ombudsman, Olha Reshetylova, announced that approximately 16,000 foreign volunteers are currently serving in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. These volunteers hail from at least 72 countries, with a significant 40% originating from Latin America. The Office of the Military Ombudsman, operational since January 27, has received over 300 complaints from foreign service members and their families, addressing issues such as pay, material support, and medical care. The Ukrainian government has been actively supporting these volunteers, ensuring their integration and addressing their concerns through a dedicated working group.
