Taylor Farms Withdraws Iceberg Lettuce Amid Cyclosporiasis Outbreak Concerns
Taylor Farms, a California-based company, has announced the withdrawal of its iceberg lettuce from the U.S. market due to a cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to its produce. The outbreak, caused by a food and waterborne parasite, has resulted in thousands of illnesses across several states. The company stated that the affected lettuce was sourced from Taylor Farms de Mexico and represents less than 1% of the U.S. iceberg lettuce supply. In response, Taco Bell has also removed potentially impacted lettuce from its supply chain in select states. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued warnings to residents in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia regarding the consumption of shredded iceberg lettuce from Taco Bell.
