Scott Pelley Accuses CBS of Bias and Falsehoods Following Termination
Scott Pelley, a former correspondent for '60 Minutes', has accused CBS News of attempting to inject falsehoods and bias into its reporting. Pelley, who was recently terminated, claims that the network's new management instructed him to include unverified assertions in politically sensitive stories. He also alleged that politicians have been given influence over editorial decisions, citing an instance where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was allowed to choose his interviewer. Pelley criticized the network's leadership for a collapse of values, following the firing of senior leadership and correspondents. He expressed concern over the direction of '60 Minutes' under new executive producer Nick Bilton, accusing the management of incompetence and unprofessionalism.
