High Plains Face Snow, Rain, and Freezing Rain Thursday
A fast-moving clipper system will impact the High Plains on Thursday, bringing a mix of snow, rain, and potentially freezing rain as warmer air briefly moves in. Winter alerts cover Montana through Minnesota, with select counties under Winter Storm or Ice Storm Warnings. Snowfall totals may be light, but even small accumulations can create hazardous road conditions. Forecasts indicate up to a tenth of an inch of ice in parts of northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota, and the Dakotas, with lingering snow and cold continuing into the weekend.
