Coolville Barn Becomes Public Art Mural for Nation's 250th Anniversary
In Coolville, Ohio, a historic barn has been transformed into a public art mural as part of the state's celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary. This initiative, led by the America250-Ohio Commission, aims to bring local history to the public through regional landmarks. Eastern Ohio artist Scott Hagan, known for his bicentennial murals, was selected to paint the barns. The Coolville barn mural highlights the 1787 Northwest Ordinance, a significant document in Ohio's path to statehood. The project faced challenges in finding suitable barns, but community support and volunteer efforts helped overcome these obstacles.
