Connie Chan, a San Francisco Supervisor, has gained significant momentum in her bid to replace Nancy Pelosi in Congress, following Pelosi's endorsement. Chan, who was initially trailing behind tech centimillionaire Saikat Chakrabarti, surged ahead in the primary race after Pelosi publicly supported her campaign. Despite Chakrabarti's substantial financial investment of nearly $10 million in his campaign, Chan's endorsement from Pelosi proved to be a decisive factor, allowing her to advance to the general election. State Senator Scott Wiener, a moderate Democrat, also secured a spot on the November ballot, having been a frontrunner throughout the primary. Chan's campaign celebrated the endorsement as a pivotal moment, with Chan herself acknowledging the impact of Pelosi's support in turning the tide of the race.
