Robbery Suspect Barricades in North Philadelphia Home, Surrenders with Infant
A man wanted for robbery barricaded himself inside a North Philadelphia home on the 2300 block of North 3rd Street on Monday evening. Philadelphia Police Department officers declared a barricade situation around 7:29 p.m. after the suspect refused to exit the property. SWAT teams surrounded the home, and the intersection was shut down. Approximately an hour into the standoff, the situation de-escalated when the man emerged from the residence, yelling that his children were inside with him. He was seen carrying an infant in one arm, with four other children walking out alongside him. Officers quickly moved in to safely remove the children and apprehend the suspect. As he was being taken into custody, the suspect reportedly danced and shouted messages, including "Tell my kids I love them all" and "I'll be out in two weeks. I love you, baby… come and get me, baby." Details regarding the location of the robbery or any injuries sustained are not yet available.
