Federal Judge Allows Lawsuit by Fired Tennessee Investigator Over Charlie Kirk Facebook Comment to Proceed
A federal judge has denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Monica Meeks, a former Tennessee state investigator, who was fired after making a Facebook comment about conservative activist Charlie Kirk. U.S. District Judge Aleta A. Trauger's ruling means Meeks' civil-rights complaint, alleging a violation of her First Amendment rights, can move forward past the pleading stage.
