The Philadelphia region is under a FIRST ALERT for severe weather on Thursday, August 20, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Heavy rain, flash flooding, and gusty winds are expected as storms move through the area. Rainfall totals are predicted to reach 2-3 inches in a short period, increasing the likelihood of flash flooding. There is also a 2% chance of tornadoes forming during the storms. Temperatures will remain in the lower 80s throughout the day, with conditions improving by Friday.
