China Evacuates Tourists from Jiuzhaigou World Heritage Site Amid Mudslides
China has initiated the evacuation of tourists stranded at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jiuzhaigou following mudslides caused by heavy rainfall. The mudslides were triggered by Typhoon Noul, which has brought severe weather conditions across southern and central China. Jiuzhaigou, located in Sichuan province, is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, including colorful pools and waterfalls. Due to the mudslides, key tourist areas such as Arrow Bamboo Lake and Zechawa Valley have been temporarily closed. The Chinese government has issued a red alert for flash floods in several provinces, including Jiangxi, Hunan, and Guangdong, as the country faces its peak flood season.
