McLennan County Employees Face Challenges During New Computer System Transition
McLennan County employees are experiencing significant difficulties and frustration during the transition to a new computer software system from Tyler Technologies. Despite 20 to 25 hours of training, many workers report insufficient preparation and difficulty reaching Tyler support staff for assistance. One employee expressed a desire to throw the computer out the window, while another reportedly burst into tears due to the overwhelming situation. A major issue arose when employees discovered that court settings for 1,400 pending cases, which they were told would be automatically integrated, had to be manually entered into the new system. This unexpected manual data entry for trial dates, pretrial hearings, status conferences, probation revocation hearings, and arraignments has led to immense pressure and extra work for staff.
