Ballston BID Launches 'The Commons Pop-Up Park' Series with Free Ice Cream and Games
The Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) is initiating a new series of outdoor events in Ballston, Virginia, called 'The Commons Pop-Up Park.' The series will feature various activities, starting with a free ice cream giveaway from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream on Wednesday. The event will take place in a courtyard located at 4075 Wilson Blvd, offering 'Honeycomb' ice cream made with caramel candy while supplies last, beginning at 11:30 a.m. In addition to the ice cream, attendees can participate in lawn games such as giant chess, giant Jenga, and cornhole. This initiative is part of a broader summertime series scheduled for Wednesdays throughout August and September, aiming to create a welcoming public space for community engagement. Jackie Nnaji, Ballston BID Marketing and Communications Manager, stated that the goal is to provide a simple place for people to connect and enjoy Ballston, fostering community through local businesses and programming.
