Sausalito City Manager Elaine Forbes Arrested Amid Criminal Investigation
Elaine Forbes, the city manager of Sausalito, was arrested on suspicion of criminal charges just weeks after assuming her role. The arrest occurred within city limits, and the Marin County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the matter. Forbes, who was appointed unanimously on May 5 and took office on July 1, was previously the director of the Port of San Francisco. The Sausalito City Council had recently approved a leave of absence for Forbes, and the city has stated that operations will continue under Acting City Manager Brandon Phipps.
