Timelapse Video Chronicles Manhattan's Transformation from 1600 to 2026
A new timelapse video produced by CITY 3D TIMELAPSE showcases the dramatic transformation of Manhattan over the past 450 years. The video, which runs for eight minutes, begins with the early 17th century when the first non-native settlers arrived, and progresses through significant historical phases including the Dutch colonial era, English rule, and the industrialization of the 19th century. It highlights the development of maritime infrastructure, the implementation of the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, and the rise of skyscrapers that have come to define the city's skyline. The video divides its focus into three parts: the entirety of Manhattan, Lower Manhattan, and Midtown Manhattan, providing a comprehensive view of the city's evolution.
