Broward Elementary School Administrator Arrested and Reassigned Following Off-Campus Incident
Marc Horowitz, an administrator at Orange Brook Elementary School in Broward County, Florida, was arrested on Sunday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office following an off-campus incident. Horowitz, 53, faces charges of robbery without a firearm or weapon and 'touch or strike,' a charge often associated with battery or domestic violence. The arrest stemmed from a 'disturbance' reported on Friday at approximately 11:58 p.m. in Weston. According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, deputies learned that Horowitz was involved in a domestic disturbance where he allegedly physically assaulted an individual and snatched their phone. Broward County Public Schools confirmed Horowitz's arrest and stated he is being reassigned from the school, pending further Human Resources review and action, which could include termination. Horowitz is listed as the interim principal on the school's website.
