Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha have announced the birth of their fourth child, Alec Neel Vance. This event marks a historical milestone as Alec is the first child born to a sitting U.S. vice president in 156 years, since Schuyler Colfax III in 1870. The Vance family plans to maintain their official residence at the Naval Observatory but will also spend time in Middleburg, Virginia. The birth announcement was made on social media, and President Trump shared a photo of the newborn, although it is unclear if he had permission to do so.
