Alabama Launches Career Pathways Hub Alongside $250 Million in Two-Year CTE Funding
Alabama House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter has announced the launch of the Alabama Career Pathways Program, a statewide initiative aimed at connecting students with training for high-demand careers. The program, unveiled at the DeKalb County Career Tech Center, is designed to provide students with opportunities to learn skilled trades, particularly for those not pursuing a traditional four-year college degree. This initiative is backed by a $250 million state investment, with additional support from local communities and industry partners. The program includes a centralized website for students to explore career fields, locate training opportunities, and understand education requirements and potential salaries. The effort is part of a broader strategy to address the growing demand for skilled workers in Alabama, driven by the state's rapid economic growth and significant investments in economic development projects.
