King Charles III has formally reiterated that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, remain non-working members of the royal family following their return to the United Kingdom. A letter, authorized by the King and sent by the Lord Chamberlain to senior government and military officials, as well as lord lieutenants, clarifies their status. The communication confirms that the couple will continue to refrain from using their royal titles for official duties, a practice they adopted after stepping back from official royal duties in 2020. Any charitable work undertaken by Prince Harry and Meghan will be conducted in a private capacity. The letter also states that operational security decisions are matters for the relevant police agencies. This formal clarification aims to prevent any doubt or confusion regarding their roles and responsibilities within the royal framework.
