Milder Winter Expected for Philadelphia with Below-Normal Snowfall
The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a milder winter for Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, with above-average temperatures and slightly below-normal snowfall. While the region may experience fewer snowstorms compared to previous years, key periods of cold and snow are still anticipated. The coldest stretches are expected in early to mid-December, early to mid-January, and early to late February. Snowiest periods are forecast for late November, early and mid-January, early and late February, and late March. A strong El Niño is cited as the primary driver of these milder conditions, as it typically brings warmer temperatures to the East Coast. Despite the overall milder outlook, residents should still prepare for occasional snow events and cold snaps.
