Tree Trimming Contractor Killed in DeKalb County After Being Struck by Vehicle
A 19-year-old tree trimming contractor, Dylan Wayland, was killed on Monday morning in DeKalb County, Georgia, after being hit by a car. The incident occurred at the intersection of Lavista Road and North Druid Hills Road. Police reported that Wayland was placing flags on the roadway for construction work when a van driver veered off the road, drove over the curb, and struck him. Wayland was employed by Asplundh, a contractor for Georgia Power, and was wearing a safety vest at the time of the accident. The driver of the van remained at the scene following the collision. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, and it has not yet been determined if the driver will face charges.
