Delta Air Lines Issues Weather Waiver for Northeast Airports Amid Expected Delays
Delta Air Lines has announced a weather waiver for nine airports in the Northeast United States due to anticipated air traffic control delays caused by summer weather conditions. The waiver, effective for flights on August 6 and 7, 2026, allows passengers to rebook their flights without incurring a fare difference, provided they travel by August 10, 2026. The affected airports include major hubs in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. This decision comes as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prepares for potential disruptions in the New York metro area, which could impact the broader Northeast corridor.
