Small Plane Crash in Northwest Fresno Kills Two Children, Critically Injures Two Adults
A small plane crashed in northwest Fresno, California, resulting in the deaths of two children and critically injuring two adults. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon near the Sierra Sky Park Airport on Blythe Avenue. Multiple agencies, including the Fresno Police, Fresno Fire Department, Fresno County Sheriff's Office, and North Central Fire Department, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders found the plane on fire atop the bluff of the San Joaquin River. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes. Power was briefly disrupted for residents in the vicinity but has since been restored. The identities of the victims and their relationship to one another have not yet been released. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has taken over the investigation into the cause of the crash, with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office establishing a perimeter to preserve the crash site for the federal investigation.
