Spain Reports Return of 70,000 Migrants Amid Ceuta Crisis, EU Pledges Support
Spain's Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska announced that 70,000 of the 72,000 migrants who crossed into Ceuta have returned to Morocco. The crisis, which saw a massive influx of migrants, was not anticipated by Spain's National Intelligence Centre. The EU has expressed strong solidarity with Spain, with member states pledging to enhance early-warning systems for such crises. The Spanish government has allocated additional funds to support unaccompanied minors in Ceuta, emphasizing the need for a coordinated response to migration challenges.
