Measles Exposure Alert Issued for Universal Studios Hollywood After Infected Guest Visit
Health officials have issued a public health alert after a guest infected with measles spent 11 hours at Universal Studios Hollywood. The exposure occurred on a Sunday, with the infected individual present from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors who were at the park during this time are advised to monitor for symptoms until August 16. The alert comes amid a resurgence of measles in the U.S., with 2,371 confirmed cases reported in 2026, the highest since 1991. Measles is highly contagious, spreading through the air and on surfaces, posing a significant risk in crowded environments like theme parks.
