Baja Racer Caitlin Hamilton Uses Car to Advocate for Suicide Prevention
Caitlin Hamilton, a Baja racer from Brainerd, is using her racing platform to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health. Her car, which she will race at the Crow Wing County Fair, is adorned with messages such as 'stay another day' and 'mental health matters,' along with the suicide crisis lifeline number 988. The car also features over 200 names of individuals who have died by suicide, collected through social media. Hamilton's initiative began in memory of her uncle and a friend, both of whom died by suicide. She aims to bring the community together and encourage open discussions about mental health.
