Inventia Healthcare Limited Recalls Over 25,000 Bottles of Blood Pressure Medication Due to Dissolution Failure
Inventia Healthcare Limited has initiated two recalls for its chlorthalidone tablets in the U.S., affecting over 25,000 bottles. The recall stems from the tablets failing dissolution testing, which means the active ingredient may not be released and absorbed effectively by the body. Chlorthalidone is a potent, long-acting thiazide-like diuretic prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce fluid accumulation caused by conditions such as heart failure, liver disease, or kidney dysfunction. The affected products are 25mg chlorthalidone tablets supplied in bottles of 100 or 1,000, with expiration dates in April 2027. The recalls, classified as Class II by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), include batch codes RISA24001, RISB24002, and RISA24002. The first recall, initiated on June 5, affected 11,460 bottles, while the second covered an additional 13,567 bottles.
