Cornell University Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Fraternity Gang Rape from 2024
Cornell University is currently facing a civil lawsuit regarding deeply disturbing allegations of sexual assault involving members of the student community. A former female student claims she was drugged and gang-raped by seven members of the Chi Phi fraternity in October 2024, inside their fraternity house in Ithaca, New York. The lawsuit alleges that the woman, then 20 years old, was pressured into snorting a drug, believed to be ketamine, before the assault. Messages reportedly sent within the fraternity's Snapchat group chat, including one stating 'free p****', are cited in the documents. The alleged assault spanned several hours across various rooms, during which the victim reportedly lost consciousness.
