Boston Firefighters Battle Six-Alarm Blaze in Roxbury Commercial Building
Firefighters in Boston are currently battling a six-alarm fire that erupted in a commercial building located at 72 Warren St. in the Roxbury neighborhood. The incident began just before 8 a.m., with thick smoke visible from the structure upon the arrival of fire crews. The building, which is over 100 years old and houses several businesses, including Ugi's Sub Shop, has been significantly impacted. Due to the intensity of the fire, firefighters were ordered to evacuate the building. The Boston Fire Department has deployed numerous engines, with some pulling water from as far as Moreland Street, two blocks away, to combat the flames. One firefighter sustained a hand injury from cut glass and has been transported to a local hospital. Boston police have issued warnings to motorists regarding traffic disruptions in the Warren Street and Dudley Street area.
