According to Scaramucci, Melania's reduced presence has led to President Trump becoming more emboldened, as she was one of the few people he would listen to. Scaramucci suggests that the relationship between the Trumps has become distant, contributing to Melania's absence from the public eye. The Daily Beast reports that Melania has been seen in public only 47 times in 2025 and 38 days in the first seven months of 2026. Scaramucci also noted that the Trump family was not keen to return to Washington, D.C., after their experience during the first administration, which may explain their absence.
