Thunderstorms Bring Rain to Las Vegas Valley
Thunderstorms have begun developing across the Las Vegas Valley as of Monday afternoon, September 21, 2026. Radar at 3:00 PM indicated fast-moving storms affecting the northern and western parts of the valley, including Summerlin. Earlier, at 2:30 PM, Centennial Hills experienced light showers accompanied by lightning and thunder. The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Death Valley National Park in eastern California, effective until 7:30 PM. The advisory warns of minor flooding on Scotty’s Castle Road and Saline Valley Road due to multiple rounds of showers and storms. A low-pressure system from the Pacific Ocean is responsible for the 20% chance of rain in the area today. This comes during a notably dry monsoon season, with Las Vegas recording only trace amounts of rain in September so far.
