Secretive Terrorist Removal Court Holds First Hearing in Afghan Woman's Case
The Alien Terrorist Removal Court, a rarely used judicial body, is set to hold its first hearing in the case of Nazira Haji Zada, an Afghan woman residing in Texas. The Justice Department seeks her deportation, alleging she indoctrinated her children with ISIS ideology. Her son was previously convicted for an ISIS-aligned plot targeting the 2024 Election. Despite having no criminal history, Zada faces proceedings under a court established 30 years ago but never before utilized. The court's procedures, which limit the accused's access to case details, have raised constitutional concerns. The DOJ argues that disclosing classified information could compromise national security.
