Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Relocate Rideshare Pickup Closer to Terminal by 2027
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has announced plans to move its rideshare pickup location closer to the terminal, with changes expected to begin in 2027. Currently, passengers using services like Uber and Lyft face a significant walk or tram ride from the terminal to the pickup zone, which is situated near the rental car facility behind the airport's Red Garage. This initiative is part of a larger multi-billion-dollar expansion program for AUS, known as 'Journey with AUS,' designed to accommodate the rapid growth of the Austin area. The airport intends to close the Red Garage to facilitate the construction of a new arrivals and departures hall, which will be positioned closer to both the rental car facility and the new rideshare pickup area.
